Ask five agencies in Kerala for a website price and you'll get five very different numbers. Most of that gap comes from different jobs being quoted, not from one agency being honest and the rest not. This guide explains what actually changes the price, what you will pay every year after launch, and what to ask before you sign.
The one website price we publish
We build websites from our studio in Kozhikode. A business website with us starts from Rs 9,800. That's the only website price we publish.
Anything bigger, like an online store, a site in two languages or a booking system, we quote in writing after a call. We need to know the pages, the features and who is writing the content before we can give a number that won't move. You can see what we build on our web development page.
What changes the price
These six things explain most of the difference between two quotes.
Number of pages
A five-page site for a clinic is a different job from a forty-page site for a school with a page per course. Each page needs a layout, content and a check on phones.
Who writes the words and takes the photos
If you send finished text and good photos, the job is smaller. If the agency writes the copy, sources images or sends a photographer, that work is part of the price.
Selling online
An online store needs product pages, a cart, a payment gateway, order emails and a way for you to add stock. That's more to build and more to test than a brochure site.
Custom features
Booking forms, customer login, a members area, a quote calculator or a property search all take extra design and development time.
Languages
A site in Malayalam and English is closer to two sites. Every page, button and form message needs a second version, and someone has to write or check the Malayalam.
Integrations
Sending enquiries to WhatsApp, a CRM, Google Sheets or your accounting software means connecting to another system. Simple links are quick. Two-way syncs take longer.
The yearly costs to budget for
The build is a one-time cost. A website also has running costs, and they're easy to forget when you compare quotes. We have not put rupee figures here because providers change their prices often. Check each one on the provider's own site.
Domain renewal
Your .com or .in name is rented, usually a year at a time. The renewal price is often higher than the first-year offer, so check both before you buy.
Hosting
The server your site lives on. Ask what is included, who pays the bill, and what happens if your traffic grows.
Business email
An address like you@yourbusiness.com usually comes from a separate provider and is often charged per mailbox per month or year.
SSL certificate
The padlock in the browser. Most hosts now give this free and renew it on their own. You shouldn't be paying extra for a basic one.
Payment gateway fees
If you sell online, the gateway takes a fee on each payment. There is usually no big upfront bill, but it adds up with every order, so read the gateway's own pricing page.
Changes and upkeep
Plugin updates, small text changes and backups. Some agencies include a set amount, others charge per change. Agree this in writing before launch.
Red flags in a website quote
A low price isn't a red flag by itself. These are.
No written quote
A price said on a call can change later. A proper quote lists the pages, features, what you must supply and what isn't included.
Domain registered in the agency's name
Your domain is your address on the internet. It should be in your name, with the login in your hands. If the agency owns it, leaving them gets hard.
No source handover
Ask whether you get the files, the admin login and the hosting access at the end. If the answer is no, you're renting the site, not buying it.
A price before they've understood the job
If someone quotes a full store without asking how many products you have or how you take payment, the number will move later.
Questions to ask any agency
Copy these into WhatsApp and send them to everyone on your shortlist, including us.
- 01Can you send a written quote that lists every page and feature?
- 02Whose name will the domain be registered in?
- 03Who pays for hosting, and what does it cost each year?
- 04Will I get the admin login, hosting access and source files at the end?
- 05Who writes the content, and who supplies the photos?
- 06How many rounds of changes are included before launch?
- 07What do changes cost after the site is live?
- 08Can I see live websites you built, not just screenshots?
- 09Who will actually do the work, and how do I reach them?
Common questions about website prices
- How much does a website cost in Kerala?
- It depends on what you need. At Pixel Pro Solution, a business website starts from Rs 9,800. Larger sites, online stores and custom features cost more, and we quote them in writing after a call.
- How much does a website cost in India?
- Prices across India vary a lot because the jobs vary a lot. The things that move the price are the number of pages, who writes the content, whether you sell online, custom features, languages and integrations. Compare written quotes, not headline prices.
- Why do website quotes in Kerala differ so much?
- Two quotes often describe different jobs. One may include copywriting, photos, hosting and a year of changes, and another may not. Ask each agency for a written list of what is and isn't included.
- What yearly costs come after the website is built?
- Budget for domain renewal, hosting, business email if you want it, payment gateway fees if you sell online, and any paid updates. A basic SSL certificate is usually free from the host.
- Does a Malayalam and English website cost more?
- Yes. Every page, button and form message needs a second version, and the Malayalam needs to be written or checked by someone who reads it well.
- Should the domain be in my name or the agency's?
- Your name. You should have the login for the domain and hosting, so you can move to another developer later without asking anyone's permission.
- What does the Rs 9,800 website include?
- It's our starting price for a business website. Message us with what you need and we'll tell you if it fits, or send a written quote if it's bigger.
- Can you connect my website to WhatsApp or a CRM?
- Yes. We can send enquiries to WhatsApp or a CRM. We run our own business on a CRM we built in-house, which handles our leads, quotations, invoices and WhatsApp lead inbox.
